Trends and developments in treasury management in China

Treasury Café

The Chinese economy showed solid growth of 4.5% in the first quarter of 2023. While only a few visitors from the European HQ were able to travel to China under the strict Corona measures of the last three years, we notice China opening up with the recent travel facilitation measures. Moreover, for the first time, the German government is working on a strategy for dealing with China in the future as a partner, systematic rival and competitor. For global companies, this is not the only reason why China-specific issues are once again coming to the fore: Make new investments or better exercise caution? Withdraw excess liquidity or better invest locally? Is centralized treasury management from HQ a suitable set-up under dynamically developing political conditions? We will discuss these and other topics at the Treasury Café.
