First of all, an important innovation: In December 2023, the Mannheim City Council decided to introduce an accommodation tax, which will be levied from 01.03.2024. The tax amounts to 3.5% of the net accommodation price (excluding VAT). The hotel guest is liable for the tax. Hotels in Mannheim are obliged to collect the accommodation tax from guests and pay it to the City of Mannheim. The accommodation tax is therefore automatically booked on your hotel bill and shown as such.
