About us
Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) is a medium-sized universal bank and the central institution for the savings banks in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, and Rhineland-Palatinate. With total assets of 356 billion euros and approximately 10,800 employees (as of December 31, 2024), LBBW is one of Germany’s largest banks. Its core activities include corporate banking—particularly with small and medium-sized enterprises—as well as retail banking and business with the savings banks. Another focus is on real estate and project financing in selected markets, as well as customer-oriented capital market business with banks, savings banks, and institutional investors. Small and medium-sized enterprises and retail customers in Baden-Württemberg, as well as wealth management clients, are served under the BW-Bank brand, while the Group’s commercial real estate financing is consolidated under the Berlin Hyp brand. In addition to expertise in innovative and complex investment vehicles and financing solutions, support in tapping into international markets also plays an important role. To this end, LBBW is represented internationally at 16 locations in 15 countries. Specialized subsidiaries—for example, in the areas of leasing, factoring, real estate, commercial equity investments, venture capital, and asset management—round out the LBBW Group’s in-house range of services.
