Using ÖBB – Holding AG (Austrian Federal Railways) as an example, we demonstrate how cash management and payment transactions interact in SAP, and how the ITech EBICS Adapter —as an extension for the SAP Bank Communication Manager—enables the exchange of payment orders and electronic account statements. We address challenges such as media breaks and file storage, and share lessons learned regarding resource planning, coordination, and documentation of the detailed concept. This makes the process predictable.
